SILICON VALLEY, CA – Backpedal.io, the makers of the Backpedal app, may have solved the social anxiety problem facing millions of online users who obsess about their social media posts being taken the wrong way or fear being targeted by a Twitter mob.
“The app monitors all your social media posts and measures the responses to those posts for positive or negative sentiment,” says Alvin Plant, Founder of Backpedal.io. “If the ratio of negative comments/likes/retweets/replies outweighs the positive then the app immediately deletes the post for you eliminating the possibility of looking like a bad person.”
“I can’t tell you how much better I feel now that I’ve installed the Backpedal app,” social media user Sanaa Cunningham said. “Usually I’m very intentional about crafting my social media posts so they don’t offend anyone or could be taken the wrong way but with so much outrage out there you never know who might get triggered.”
The early adopters of the app have been mostly been politicians, celebrities and college students.
Backpedal.io’s motto is, “You can’t please all the people all of the time but you are guaranteed to piss off somebody some of the time.”
